Adopt-A-Tree Program VOLUNTEER A project of the City of Moscow Tree Commission. ---PAGE BREAK--- Adopt-A-Tree Program Adoption Guidelines Trees owned by the City of Moscow and located in parks, along Paradise Path, and in other City rights‐of‐way may be adopted. The City Forester has sole authority to approve speciϐic trees for adoption. Adopter’s Responsibilities Undertake the activities for which you are authorized in a responsible manner, taking into consideration your safety and that of others as well as the continued health of the trees. Report back to the Community Forester when work is complete, note any particular issues or concerns that staff should consider. Report tree‐related concerns you see on any city tree (broken limbs, suspected disease, or failure to thrive, any tree‐related hazards to pedestrians or vehicles) to the City Forester. Purpose Encourage individuals and service organizations to volunteer to support Moscow’s urban forest by providing speciϐic services to trees on City property and rights‐ of‐way. Help extend the resources of the city Parks Department. Promote civic pride. Enhance the health and beauty of Moscow’s urban forest. City of Moscow Responsibilities Communicate special events and opportunities where Adopters can participate with the city in celebrating its forest. Annually assess the health of trees that have been adopted. Annually publically recognize the efforts of Adopters. Provide necessary equipment/ tools to adopters when appropriate.
