RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - 09 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, REGULATING DOWNTOWN OVERNIGHT PARKING; PROVIDING THIS RESOLUTION TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, on June 6, 2016, City Council determined that it was in the public interest to change overnight parking regulations in certain portions of downtown Moscow; and WHEREAS, Moscow City Code§ 11-4-3(A) allows the Council to determine where, in the public interest, various parking areas on public rights-of-way or property should have limited time duration parking, it may, by Resolution, regulate and restrict public parking in such a manner as it determines to be in the public interest; and WHEREAS, Council desires to allow the additional overnight parking on the south side of 6th Street between Washington Street and Jefferson Street; and WHEREAS, the regulated overnight parking in Exhibit included in this Resolution and adopted by Council, is designed to improve the ability of the public to use public parking within the City and to promote safety; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow as follows: 1. The City Council finds it to be in the public interest to regulate overnight parking on public rights-of-way or property as shown on the accompanying map attached to this Resolution as Exhibit 2. The attached Exhibit is incorporated into this Resolution, the same as if fully copied and transcribed therein. 3. This Resolution replaces all previous Resolutions relative to regulated overnight parking in the downtown area. 4. That this Resolution shall become effective as of the 6th day of June, 2016. PASSED AND APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Moscow, Idaho, this 6th day of June, 2016.
