RESOLUTION NO. 2004-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO, REGARDING THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW; PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION BE IN EFFECT UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, It is the policy of the City of Moscow to be an equal opportunity employer and it is the City's belief that all persons are entitles to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate against its employees or applicants because of race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, or any other basis prohibited by local, state, or federal law; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow endeavors to ensure equal employment opportunity is extended to all persons in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, discipline and termination; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is committed to the goal of providing effective equal employment opportunities for minorities, females, and disabled individuals. Such action may include recruitment, training, education, and other programs designed to improve the utilization of minorities, females, and disabled individuals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho as follows: In keeping with this policy, the City of Moscow certifies it will recruit, hire, train, and promote into all job levels the most qualified persons without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, and marital status. Similarly, all personnel matters, i.e., compensation, benefits, transfers, and City of Moscow sponsored programs will be administered in accordance with this policy. The City of Moscow will ensure the promotion decisions are in accordance with principles of equal employment opportunities by imposing only valid requirements for advancement opportunities. I
