MOSCOW CommUNITY WALK PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, 2010 marks the 4th year that Moscow will celebrate the annual CommUNITY Walk; and WHEREAS, Goodness, peace, and understanding among people of all persuasions is possible in the world that we share; and WHEREAS, People here are dedicated to preserving and enhancing Moscow’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive community; and WHEREAS, Moscow Human Rights Commission; Latah County Human Rights Task Force; local, state, and national organizations and agencies; and leaders in our schools, universities, government, and neighborhoods are committed to eliminating discrimination, improving relations, and guiding policies and practices that affect civil and human rights; and WHEREAS, Walking together symbolizes our commitment to social justice and unity; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim Saturday, April 24th, 2010 as CommUNITY Walk Day in the City of Moscow, and I urge all people to promote peaceful, meaningful connections in this community and beyond, and to participate in this inspirational event.
