RESOLUTION NO. 91-12H A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY BY THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED DEED; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $70, 373.84 FOR SAID PURCHASE; PROVIDING FOR THIS RESOLUTION TO BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City of Moscow contracts for the necessary public service of collection and disposal of solid waste; and WHEREAS, the City causes this waste collection service to be performed with a variety of programs; and WHEREAS, a program of recycling is one of the programs utilized by the City; and WHEREAS, the property utilized by the city for a recycling center has been sold; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are committed to continue to provide a recycling program and a site is necessary for such a program. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The acquisition of real property in proximity to the existing recycling center for the purposes of a future recycling center and for other uses associated with the solid waste program is an ordinary and necessary expense. SECTION 2: That the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary documents to acquire a site at a reasonable cost. SECTION 3: That the costs will be paid by user fees from the solid waste collection account, which is provided for in the current budget, and that the city Treasurer is authorized to issue a check in the amount not to exceed $70, 373.84 for this acquisition. SECTION 4: That this resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and approval. ---PAGE BREAK--- SECTION 5: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to procure any necessary title insurance for the specified property.
