MORGAN COUNTY COMMISSION SUMMARY OF REGULAR BOARD METING March 6, 2012 10:00 A.M. 150 East Washington Street Officials attending: Chairman Warren, Vice-chairman Ainslie, Comms. Bohlen and Harris, County Manager Michael Lamar, County Attorney Christian Henry, and County Clerk Jane Laseter. I. Invocation – Commissioner Bohlen II. Minutes: February 7, 2012 – Regular Meeting February 21, 2012 – Special Called February 21, 2012 – Work Session ACTION – Approved Unanimously III. Time Certain: 10:00 A.M. Calendars – March, April and May 2012 10:20 A.M. Consent Agenda 1. Motion to approve the quote from Reynolds Warren in the amount of approximately $22,790.00 for a truckload of crack sealing material to be used by Roads & Bridges Department, to be paid from current SPLOST. 2. Motion to authorize paving Cedar Grove Road 0.5000 miles to finish the segment from Bethany Road to Kingston Road as presented at an estimated cost of between $35,000.00 and $40,000.00, price may vary due to the fluctuation in price of liquid asphalt, to be paid from current SPLOST. 3. Motion to reappoint Randy Brown to the Morgan County Recreation Board, with new term beginning 4/1/2012 and ending 3/31/2018. 4. Motion to appoint Victoria Walton to the Morgan County Recreation Board, with term beginning 4/1/2012 and ending 3/31/2018. 5. Motion to approve the February 2012 financials and payables including General Fund in the amount of $349,841.10, Morgan County E911/Communications in the amount of $4,331.54, Morgan County Capital Project Fund/SPLOST in the amount of $67,915.22, Morgan County Solid Waste in the amount of $50,393.75 and General EFT’s in the amount of $781.94. 6. Motion to accept the January 2012 Staff Reports as presented at the February 21, 2012 Work Session. ACTION – Approved Unanimously 11:00 A.M. Planning Commission Planning Commission Old Business: 1. None Planning Commission New Business: ---PAGE BREAK--- 1. Petition from Sunflower Farm for a Conditional Use permit to operate an event facility at 1430 Durden Road, Rutledge, Georgia. ACTION – Approved conditional use permit for the Sunflower Farm to operate an event facility at 1430 Durden Road, Rutledge, Georgia. 2. Petition from Rockin’ S Arena for a Conditional Use permit to operate an event facility at 1110 Reids Ferry Road, Buckhead, Georgia. ACTION – Approved the conditional use permit for the Rockin’ S Arena to operate an event facility at 1110 Reids Ferry Road, Buckhead, Georgia. 3. Petition from William T. Singleton for a Conditional Use permit to erect a 250 foot tall guyed public safety and microwave tower at 1100 Joneswood Lane, Good Hope, Georgia. ACTION – Approved the conditional use permit from William T. Singleton to erect a 250 foot tall guyed public safety and microwave tower at 1100 Joneswood Lane, Good Hope, Georgia. 1:30 P.M. First Reading – Amendment – Code of Morgan County Chapter 66, Article IV. Purchasing (Increasing Purchasing Limit of County Manager) ACTION – Commissioners discussed. Tabled to work session. 4. *Discussion of Short Term Work Plan Update ACTION – Commissioners discussed reinstatement of some previous projects in the Short Term Work Plan Update. Commissioners will review the Short Term Work Plan Update with revisions at the March 20th work session and it will be voted on at a Special Called Meeting that night. *Time sensitive items submitted after work session.
