The new Center which opened in March 2003, boasts an inviting atmosphere complete with comfortable furnishings and a big screen television. A wide variety of programs and activities are offered at the Center, including day trips, card clubs, games and bingo, exercise and fitness classes, enriching art classes, birthday parties, movies, ceramics and crafts. The Center is not the place to come if you have one foot in the grave! We are full of life and experience the joy of friendship and laughter together. Seniors who utilize our building during the day are self-maintained. One misconception in the community is that the Center is a nursing home. We have a wide variety of clients from “Fox Trotters” to “Tennessee Waltzers!” Some of us move faster than others, but clients here are still in the ball game of life! So… do not be deceived, come in and see for yourself what a blessing being surrounded by friends and staff who make life at your age, whatever age that may be, a little more entertaining and enjoyable. Who wants to sit home and keep up with “The Days of Everyone else's Lives”? As the sands of the hour glass, so are the days of YOUR life. Don’t let them slip away one grain at a time! If you are interested in gaining new friendships, broadening opportunities for personal growth, and gaining satisfaction for life through involvement in activities and programs, come by, sign up and experience the time of your life! Opportunities to Serve… Volunteers play a vital role here at the MCSC. There are various services where volunteers can step into the staff’s shoes. Outreach, friendly visitation and home delivered meals are crucial to home bound residents here in Morgan County. If you have a creative gene, you could be a valuable volunteer with our crafts and anyone is welcome to help with our regular activities. We have only a limited number of volunteers from churches and organizations who contribute their time to these programs and services to meet the needs of Morgan County residents. We need YOUR help. If you have been thinking about serving your community, there could not be a more rewarding way to give of yourself.
