Minutes: October 3, 2013 – Regular Meeting October 14, 2013 – Special Called Meeting October 15, 2013 – Special Called Meeting October 15, 2013 – Work Session ACTION - Approved Unanimously III. Time Certain: Calendars – November, December 2013 & January 2014 10:00 A.M. Trevor Giddens – Microphones for Audio Recording of Meetings 10:20 A.M. Consent Agenda 1. Motion to approve the 2013 Retired Teachers Day Proclamation. 2. Motion to approve the October 2013 payables to include General Fund (includes E911 and Solid Waste) in the amount of $1,157,096.69, SPLOST in the amount of $851,512.00 and financials as presented. 3. Old Business: ---PAGE BREAK--- New Business: 1. *Inmate Medical Services ACTION - Approved Unanimously - County Attorney to look into any potential inmate medical services. 2. *GEBCORP Retirement ACTION – Approved Unanimously Explore alternative financing options to fully fund current Defined Benefit Pension Plan obligations. Start process to move to a Defined Contribution Retirement Plan for new employees hired on or after January 1, 2014. Eliminate early retirement death benefit provision and augment current employer paid life insurance with Aetna from $25,000 to $50,000. Remove Tax Commissioner and Magistrate Judge from County’s current retirement plan and freeze their County contributed retirement as of 12/31/13. 3. *Heritage Park Discussion of potential land transfer between City of Madison and Morgan County Board of Education. *Time sensitive items submitted after work session. **To accommodate persons with disabilities, this document is available in alternate formats upon request.
