Morgan County Board of Commissioners INVITATION TO BID Resurfacing & Striping 8.46 Miles County & City Roads - Mt. Zion Rd., Sugar Creek Church, Bethany, Greenwood, Barclay St., Cornwall Dr., Morgan Circle, Kolb Street, West Walton St. March 20, 2013 Morgan County and the City of Madison are accepting proposals for resurfacing and striping of 8.46 Miles County & City Roads - Mt. Zion Rd., Sugar Creek Church, Bethany, Greenwood, Barclay St., Cornwall Dr., Morgan Circle, Kolb Street, West Walton St. No paving shall be done unless the temperature is at least 45 degrees and rising; and all work is to be done to D.O.T. specifications. Below is an overview of the roadwork in question: Road Name Segment Width Length in Miles Mt. O. Box 168, 150 East Washington Street, Madison, Georgia 30650 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 1 0, 2013, at which time all proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Envelopes must be marked “Morgan County Road Project 5-10-13”. Offerors will be notified of the decision shortly thereafter. The County reserves the right to do all, some, or none of the aforementioned. The County will bear the cost of any utility facility removal and relocations necessary in connection with the construction of this project. County will be responsible for backfill to edge of pavement upon completion of resurfacing. County will be responsible for final grassing of project. The contractor will be responsible for signage and traffic control during project and temporary pavement markings upon completion of resurfacing. Please contact Gregg Pennington at (706) 342-0821 with any questions. The County will pay the contractor for work completed at the stated unit prices (less retainage) as described herein. The County will retain ten (10%) of said contract payments until the satisfactory completion of all work and the final acceptance of said work by all parties. Upon such final acceptance, the County will remit to the contractor all amounts remaining due under the terms of the contract. Time is of the essence in this contract; and, all work must be completed within 120 days of the notice to proceed. The County will assess a $200.00 per day penalty after the 120 days has expired. Notice to Proceed will be issued with award and signed contract. The completed bid form and all material included in this Invitation to Bid package shall be made a part of any contract with the successful bidder. All bidders must provide documentation demonstrating their compliance with E- Verify/SAVE Programs (as these mandates are applicable to this bid). A bid bond in the amount of five percent of the bid must accompany all bids. No bid can be considered unless accompanied by a proposal guaranty. Successful bidder will be required to post a performance bond in the amount of the contract. The Morgan County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
