Town of Monument Petition for Annexation The Undersigned, in accordance with C.R.S. 31-12-107, as amended, the Constitution of the State of Colorado, and the Municipal Code of the Town of Monument, hereby petition(s) the Board of Trustees of the Town of Monument, Colorado, for annexation of the real property described more particularly in Exhibit A attached hereto and fully incorporated herein by this reference; and, represents to the Town the following: 1. That it is desirable and necessary that the area requested to be included within the Town’s limits be annexed to the Town of Monument, Colorado. 2. That the provisions of C.R.S. 31-12-104 et seq., as amended, and 31-12-105 et seq., as amended, exist or are met. 3. That not less than one-sixth of the perimeter of the area requested to be annexed is contiguous with the existing border of the annexing municipality. 4. That a community of interest exists between the area requested to be annexed and the Town of Monument. 5. That a written legal description of the boundaries of the area requested to be annexed is attached hereto as Exhibit A. 6. Attached hereto are is one full size and one reduced copy of the Annexation Map (in addition to the copies requested by the Town for the annexation application and referral agencies) containing the following: A. The written legal description of the boundaries of the area proposed to be annexed. B. A map showing the boundary of the area proposed to be annexed. C. Within the annexation boundary map, a showing of the location of each Ownership tract in unplatted land and, if part or all of the area is platted, the boundaries and the plat numbers of plots or of lots and blocks. D. Next to the boundary of the area to be annexed, a drawing of the contiguous boundary of the annexing municipality and the contiguous boundary of any other municipality abutting the area proposed to be annexed. 7. The undersigned comprise the landowner(s) of more than fifty percent of the area requested to be annexed, exclusive of streets and alleys. Proof of ownership is attached hereto. (Warranty Deed, Title Policy, etc.) 8. The undersigned request(s) that the annexing municipality approve the annexation.
