Larval Control Larval inspections commenced in late May and Monument saw a total of 75 site inspections in May and June, 18% of which bred and with a total of 1.2 acres treated. ---PAGE BREAK--- Wear Your Repellent! • CDC recently came out with new repellent recommendations, visit our website for a link & more information. • Studies have shown that most human cases of WNV were preventable. Most people infected did not take precautions such as wearing long sleeves and using repellents. • The most effective repellents contain 10%-35% DEET (N,N- diethyl-meta- toluamide). • DEET in high concentrations, above 50%, provides no additional protection. Adult Control Operations/Surveillance No adulticiding applications took place in May or June. Traps were set the first week of June and collected a total of 832 mosquitoes, of which 88% were Aedes and 8% were Culex. ---PAGE BREAK--- Larvicide Data Summary by REPORT DATE: 5/18/2015 to 6/30/2015 by ACCOUNT: MT CMMS - Comprehensive Mosquito Management System LARVAE-002 1 Thursday, July 09, 2015 * (Sites Treated/Wet Sites) ©2014 Colorado Mosquito Control Town of Monument 75 68 91 % 12 18 % 1.2 Total Site Inspections No. Wet Sites Percentage Wet Sites No Sites Treated Percentage Breeding* Total Acres Treated ---PAGE BREAK--- Adult Trap Data - Detail Trap # Date Species Count Percent TRAP-005 CMMS - Comprehensive Mosquito Management System 1 Thursday, July 09, 2015 ©2014 Colorado Mosquito Control 06/26/2015 Culex tarsalis 23 5 % 06/26/2015 Aedes vexans 17 4 % 06/26/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 415 89 % 06/26/2015 Culiseta inornata 13 3 % 06/19/2015 Culex tarsalis 1 1 % 06/19/2015 Aedes vexans 11 6 % 06/19/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 166 92 % 06/19/2015 Culiseta inornata 2 1 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) nigromaculi 3 8 % 06/05/2015 Aedes vexans 2 6 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) dorsalis 2 6 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 20 56 % 06/05/2015 Culiseta inornata 7 19 % 06/05/2015 Culex tarsalis 2 6 % MT-03 LIGHT Monument Well 4/5 06/26/2015 Culex tarsalis 12 41 % 06/26/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 13 45 % 06/26/2015 Culiseta inornata 2 7 % 06/26/2015 Aedes vexans 2 7 % 06/19/2015 Culiseta inornata 2 20 % 06/19/2015 Culex tarsalis 1 10 % 06/19/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 7 70 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) nigromaculi 4 50 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) dorsalis 4 50 % Trap Total 47 MT-02 LIGHT El Paso Monument West Oak Ridge 06/26/2015 Culiseta inornata 1 10 % 06/26/2015 Culex tarsalis 9 90 % 06/19/2015 Culex tarsalis 1 100 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) nigromaculi 1 25 % 06/05/2015 Aedes vexans 1 25 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) dorsalis 2 50 % Trap Total 15 MT-01 LIGHT El Paso Monument Dirty Woman Park ---PAGE BREAK--- Adult Trap Data - Detail Trap # Date Species Count Percent TRAP-005 CMMS - Comprehensive Mosquito Management System 2 Thursday, July 09, 2015 ©2014 Colorado Mosquito Control 06/26/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 28 61 % 06/26/2015 Aedes vexans 1 2 % 06/26/2015 Culex tarsalis 17 37 % 06/19/2015 Aedes vexans 1 3 % 06/19/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 31 94 % 06/19/2015 Culex tarsalis 1 3 % 06/05/2015 Culex tarsalis 1 14 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) dorsalis 2 29 % 06/05/2015 Aedes (Oc.) increpitus 2 29 % 06/05/2015 Aedes vexans 1 14 % 06/05/2015 Culiseta inornata 1 14 % Trap Total 86 MT-04 LIGHT El Paso Monument Creek Trap Total 684 TOTAL % 736 0 68 28 0 88 % 0 % 8 % 3 % 0 % Grand Total 832
