In May 2024, the town website underwent a redesign to assist in increasing ADA compliance, making graphics and fonts more accessible to our ADA community.  The Town of Monument was awarded a SIPA Accessibility Grant, in which 3 licenses will be available to aid employees in the creation of PDF (Portable Document Format) files/documents.  The Town of Monument currently utilizes Monsido, powered by Acquia, to scan the town website and inform us of any accessibility issues.  With the addition of “Page Assist” toolbar on all town webpages, those visiting the website have adjustable options, such as font size and type, contrast, and cursor size.  The Town website now includes an “ADA compliance request – website accessibility” Citizen Request form to open the lines of communication between the Town and our community. The request tracker can be found here: Steps the town has taken to ensure accessibility:  The town has a website committee consisting of employees from different departments that meet every other week to review website scans and work on correcting accessibility issues.  Town utilizes Monsido. Monsido is a program that runs scans weekly, giving us a list of items that may not be accessible to all. The website committee reviews these issues and corrects them. In the case that we find an issue is beyond our abilities, we contact CivicPlus for assistance.  During website committee meetings, the group will regularly check for updates from the State of Colorado Office of Information and Technology and make corrections/updates/improvements.  The Town will continue to provide ways of communicating with our citizens, to learn how to better provide an inclusive website experience.  The website committee will provide current website level to show the progress of meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance. They will provide screenshots of weekly reports, and statuses on corrected content.
