Shea Medlicott – Bio not received yet Becki Tooley (Bio from website) Becki Tooley has been a resident of Monument for 10 years and has served as a commissioner for the town. She has worked in marketing and business development for more than 20 years and wants to use her experience to help the town grow and thrive. Tooley strongly believes in the town motto “Proud of our Past — Confident in our Future” and is actively involved in the community to set a good example. She and her husband have been married for 24 years and have three children. She said what makes Monument home is the friendships she has developed and the wonderful quality of life gained from living in a small town with a big heart. Leading by example, you will often find Becki and her family at local sporting events, navigating the nearby trails on foot or by bicycle and most likely eating in one of our local restaurants. My kids get frustrated because I am always stopping to talk to someone when we are “supposed” to be going somewhere…but, getting to know your neighbors is what community is all about…one big neighborhood. Becki encourages everyone to get involved and meet their neighbors by participating in the Monument Art Walks, Planning Commission Meetings and Town Hall Meetings. Our local merchants and schools are the pulse of the town and supporting them keep it unique. Greg Coopman I grew up in the Tri-Lakes community and am a graduate of LPHS. After spending several years living in Arizona, I moved back to Monument in 2008 to raise my family. I have an amazing wife, 2 wonderful boys, and a beautiful baby girl. We specifically chose Monument as our home because of the close-knit community, great schools, and high quality lifestyle. Professionally, I am Vice President of a large healthcare company that focuses services on the growing senior population; as well as a successful entrepreneur with interests in consulting, media, entertainment, and technology. My vision of local government is honest, open, accountable, and representative of the people. It is the legal responsibility of the Board to direct and guide the Town’s paid staff, on behalf of the people. When a person makes a conscious decision to run for elected office, they will fall into one of two categories. Either they are unhappy with the current system that is in place and feel that they can change things for the better. Or, they are satisfied with the current system that is in place and want to simply participate. ---PAGE BREAK--- I feel there is great room for improvement at Town Hall in representing the people of our great community. John Howe (Bio from website) Raised in Michigan John Howe moved to Southern California and completed his BA at UCLong Beach. During the 43 years in California his resume included teaching Jr. Hi; heading a boy's home for troubled boys; managing a private estate in Malibu; directing volunteers for a hospice program. He earned a graduate degree from Seattle University. Upon retiring he moved to Monument 10 years ago where he volunteers with hospice and as a trustee for the town of Monument. Jeff Bornstein (Bio from website) I have been a resident in the town of Monument for going on 12 years. I am originally from California – born and raised. I attended Cal Poly leaving with a BA in Speech Communications / Business. I have two amazing children – Jacob whom is attending his second year at CU Boulder and my lovely daughter Savannah whom is in her first year at Palmer Ridge High School. I am employed by Kluber Lubrication NA LP. Kluber specializes in specialty lubricants. We are the Ferrari of lubricants. I have been with the company for 15 years as a Project Manager / OEM Specialist. On the weekends you can usually find me either with my daughter watching her play soccer or out on the golf course attempting to hit the ball with my son. On rare occasions you might just see me riding around town on my pearl white Harley. I am very thankful to live in Monument. I can remember the first time I visited Monument I knew right away this was going to be our home. Monument not only has some of the most beautiful settings within the United States but it also has the most incredibly friendly residents. My passion for Monument over the years enhanced my interest to get involved with our community which eventually led me to run for Trustee. I feel very strongly about maintaining the beauty that Monument brings while also preserving that small town feeling that we have all grown to love. I am very passionate about education, our schools, water resources, smart growth along with supporting our local merchants. I look forward to representing the people of Monument as a newly appointed Trustee for the town. Kevin Sorenson I am a family-oriented Christian man striving to do my part in society and to provide my family with a safe, beautiful place to live. I want to help Monument remain a town where small businesses thrive and families can expect a high quality of life. I believe in protecting our homes, churches, parks, and schools from influences that would damage the value and reputation of our town. ---PAGE BREAK--- I expect people to treat each other with respect and fairness, to take responsibility for their actions, and to consider what is best for the entire community, even when this is difficult for individuals. When we do this together, I know that we can make the right decisions, regardless of our different backgrounds and opinions. I am fiscally conservative and strongly opposed to methadone clinics in the Town of Monument. We, the citizens of Monument, are the town's greatest resource, and I know we can succeed together at making Monument a better place! Learn more about me at: Tim Allen – Bio not received yet Don Wilson Raised in Littleton Colorado, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, my wife, son, and I moved to Monument about 2 years ago. Immediately, we fell in love with our friendly neighbors, the special events, and the small town feel. As I experience and learn more about the town, I have taken a great interest in the politics of Monument. I am running for town trustee to make a difference. I want the residents of Monument to have a say in what is going on in their town. I want them to be informed while things are happening, not after the fact. When things have to be changed immediately, and or drastically overnight it is costly and painful to the community. I feel the public should be able to have options and answers, without having to search for the questions first.
