Neighborhood Engagement and Education Partnerships” 2016-2017 NOMINATION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 21, 2016 Mayor’s Top Teens Office of the Mayor and City Council 1010 Tenth Street, 6th Floor Modesto, CA 95354 Dear Teachers, Community Leaders and Fellow Citizens: As we enter our sixth year of the Mayor’s Top Teens program for 2016-2017, I am searching for extraordinary teens that are currently high school juniors or seniors in the City of Modesto, and I need your help! As members of the community who have had the privilege of being in contact with local teenagers every day through school, church, work and other activities, I am requesting your participation in nominating teens in your lives that you believe are most deserving of this special honor. To nominate online, go to What Makes an Ideal Candidate for the Mayor’s Top Teens? The ideal candidate is a teen who has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving others; who has overcome adversity or unique obstacle in their lives; who has achieved a significant accomplishment; and who is the epitome of a positive role model for their peers. The Mayor’s Top Teens seeks to acknowledge those who do not routinely receive recognition for their accomplishments, and exceptional personal characteristics they possess. About the Program This program is a unified community collaboration to honor accomplishments of local teenagers who have exemplified extraordinary efforts. Our mission through the Mayor’s Top Teens program is to provide young people with confidence, support, and recognition, that will hopefully allow for additional opportunities for them to become involved in their community, develop as leaders, and meet other successful teens in the city of Modesto. Please join me in honoring the remarkable teens in your lives by nominating them for the 2016-2017 Mayor’s Top Teens program. Attached you will find a nomination form and program overview. Sincerely, Ted Brandvold Mayor, City of Modesto Want to become a sponsor? Contact the Office of the City Council at (209) 571-5169.
