Box 642, Modesto, CA 95353 (209) 577-5232 GIS PERMIT INFORMATION Log onto www.modestogov.com NOT www.modesto.gov.com ¾ From top of home page, choose “Residents.” ¾ From drop down menu, choose “Explore Modesto (GIS).” GIS Permit Information Page 1 of 5 Revised 10/20/10 ---PAGE BREAK--- Install the Silverlight plugin if it has not already been loaded on your computer. ¾ Click on “GIS Interactive Map.” ¾ Read the disclaimer and requirements, then click “Close.” GIS Permit Information Page 2 of 5 Revised 10/20/10 ---PAGE BREAK--- GIS Permit Information Page 3 of 5 Revised 10/20/10 ¾ Click on the “Binoculars.” ¾ Enter the address (street number, street name, and street type) and then click “Find.” For example: 3712 Whirlaway Dr A list of possible address matches will be returned and the map will zoom to the matches found. Click on a specific parcel to pick it. ---PAGE BREAK--- ¾ Once you click on a specific parcel, a data box will open up in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. This data box gives information on that specific parcel. Verify the parcel is in the “city limits” by checking the “Jurisdictions” entry. ¾ To view permits issued for this parcel, click the “Building Permits” tab in the data box. Double-click a “Case#” to view permit detail. GIS Permit Information Page 4 of 5 Revised 10/20/10 ---PAGE BREAK--- GIS Permit Information Page 5 of 5 Revised 10/20/10 ¾ When viewing the permits, the permit status is: REC = Application has been received but permit has not been issued ISS = Issued (may or may not have had inspections yet) FNL = Final EXP = Expired ¾ Please note the GIS site only shows permits on active parcels; some permits may not be available on GIS. If you are unable to locate the information you need or need further assistance you may: ♦ Contact the Building Safety Division (209) 577-5232 (press 0 and ask for the person who handles Research) ♦ Come in to the office located 1010 10th Street, Suite 3100, and use the Public Information Station.
