City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Lolo Street Sewer Improvements Award Recommendation Date: June 3, 2009 Prepared by: Jessica Miller Initiated by: Kevin Slovarp Action Required: Award the bid for the Lolo Street Sewer Improvements Project 09-031 to the low bidder. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council award the bid for the Lolo Street Sewer Improvements Project 09-031 to LS Jensen for $63,604.15. Timeline: Referral to committee: June 8, 2009 Committee discussion: June 10, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: In coordination with the City sidewalk project on Lolo Street, the City will be installing a sewer main and stubs to properties along the portion of Lolo Street between Gilbert and Rattlesnake Drive. This will prevent the need to tear up the street later for installation of the sewer main and stubs. Morrison-Maierle is managing the project and the bid process. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $79,781.53. Financial Implications: This project will be paid for by the sewer utility.
