City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Administration and Finance Item: Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Montana Public Employees' Association and the City of Missoula Date: February 2, 2010 Prepared by: Gail Verlanic Initiated by: Human Resources Action Required: Authorize the Mayor to sign the collective bargaining agreement between the Montana Public Employees' Association working at the Parking Commission and the City of Missoula. This is a 1 year contract covering July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. Recommended Motion: I move the City Council authorize the Mayor to sign this agreement Timeline: Referral to committee: February 8, 2010 Committee discussion: February 10, 2010 or at the convenience of the committee Chair Background and Alternatives Explored: This is a one year contract with an increase for FY10 of 3.5% Due to the current monetary conditions and economic uncertainty of the City, a one year contract was negotiated.
