John Newman - RE: AGENCY REVIEW - Title 20 "Garage Setbacks" Revisions As previous stated, Public Work's concern, in this matter, is retaining the 20' distance between the garage and any property line fronting a street so that the sidewalks are not obstructed by parked cars. We actually proposed 25' in the zoning rewrite as many modern vehicles exceed 20' in length and very few drivers park with their bumper against the garage door, however the 20' was accepted as a compromise. We also support the alley access priority again for sidewalk/pedestrian safety and reduction of vehicles leaving and entering the public roadways in midblock.
