Timeline: Referral to committee: August 2, 2010 Committee discussion: August 4, 2010 Council acts to set hearing: August 9, 2010 Public Hearing: August 23, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: The City has received notice that a large number of oversize loads are being planned for movement on US 93 through the City of Missoula. The proposed oversize load project has caused City staff to review Municipal Code 15.44, House Moving ordinance, which addresses permits for house moving. The existing ordinance was last updated in 1988. Chapter 5.70 addresses business licensing for house movers. City staff recommends revising and updating the existing ordinance text and fee structure.
