Recommended Motion: Discussion item Timeline: Referral to committee: July 24, 2009 Committee discussion: TBD Background and Alternatives Explored: Currently bicycles are allowed to ride on sidewalks that are not posted as prohibiting bike riding. However, bike riding on sidewalks in downtown Missoula is a frequent safety concern for pedestrians. This discussion will be an opportunity to explore the pros and cons of adding signage to certain sidewalks in Missoula that would have the effect of prohibiting the use of bicycles on those sidewalks. Financial Implications: None at this time.
