City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Discuss ARRA and HB645 Projects and Current Progress Date: March 5, 2010 Prepared by: Jessica Miller Initiated by: Steve King Action Required: Discuss current progress of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and House Bill 645 (HB645) projects. Recommended Motion: None. Timeline: Referral to committee: March 7, 2010 Committee discussion: March 17, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: The ARRA and HB645 projects are progressing on schedule. These projects all have tight timelines to meet funding requirements. To expedite the projects, staff brought resolutions to the Council to authorize the Mayor to sign contracts without taking each item through Council. The resolutions for the ARRA projects were adopted on July 13, 2009 and the HB645 resolutions were adopted on August 10, 2009. The resolutions required staff to update Council with progress reports.
