RESOLUTION NUMBER 7469 A RESOLUTION OF THE MISSOULA CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS AND RECREATION’S TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENTS GENERATING ECONOMIC RECOVERY (TIGER) GRANT APPLICATION, ACTIVE MISSOULA WHEREAS, the City of Missoula is applying to receive $19,631,500 In funding from the U.S. DOT TIGER Grant program designated for use to design and construct bike and pedestrian trails and on-street enhancements and, WHEREAS, the purpose of this project is to design and construct Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant trails, sidewalks, bike lanes and crosswalks in areas of the City lacking these amenities; and WHEREAS, each project is identified in the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Long Range Transportation Plan and the City’s Capital Improvement Program, Master Sidewalk or Master Park Plan; and WHEREAS, there is demonstrated need in the aforementioned documents for additional sources of funding for bike and pedestrian infrastructure in the City; and WHEREAS, the TIGER funds in combination with local contributions will fund the projects including the described amenities. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Missoula, Montana that the City Council and Mayor support the intent of and projects contained in the TIGER grant application.
