City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Amendment No. 6 to the Professional Engineering Agreement with HKM Engineering, Inc. for the Russell Street / S. 3rd Street Environmental Impact Statement Project Date: January 28, 2009 Prepared by: Gregg Wood Initiated by: Kevin Slovarp Action Required: Amendment No. 6 to existing City/HKM Engineering, Inc. Professional Engineering Agreement for the Russell Street / S. 3rd Street Environmental Impact Statement Project. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 6 to the City/HKM Engineering, Inc. Professional Engineering Agreement for the Russell Street / S. 3rd Street Environmental Impact Statement Project in an amount not to exceed $9,698, contingent upon Montana Department of Transportation’s concurrence. Timeline: Referral to committee: January 28, 2010 Committee discussion: February 3, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: This amendment is to perform additional and unanticipated carbon monoxide (CO) modeling analysis for conformity determination. It was determined that modeling analysis is required to quantify ambient CO concentration impacts associated with the project. This “hotspot” analysis is needed to support updated regulations and to provide current input necessary to be included in the Final Environmental Impact Statement. Financial Implications: Will increase contract $9,698 to be paid by federal STPU funds allocated for this project.
