City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Administration & Finance Item: CDBG/HOME Allocation Process Briefing Date: Friday, September 10, 2010 Prepared by: Jason Wiener Initiated by: Jason Wiener Action Required: None Recommended Motion: None Timeline: Referral to committee: September 13, 2010 Committee discussion: September 29, 2010 (preferably because of the Sept. 30 CNA meeting) Background and Alternatives Explored: Office of Planning and Grants has scheduled the annual Community Needs Assessment required of CDBG/HOME entitlement cities on Thursday, Sept. 30 from 1 to 3pm in City Council Chambers. The CNA is part of the process of determining what will be funded with CDBG/HOME funds in the coming year. City Council needs to be educated about the process leading up to the allocation of CDBG/HOME funds and the impending CNA is a good opportunity to get the comprehensive view and solicit input.
