February 17, 2010 TO: Montana Fire Service Agencies and Interested Parties of Fire Code Adoption FROM: Office of State Fire Marshal RE: 2009 Fire Code Adoption The procedure of reviewing and adopting the 2009 International Fire Code and our Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM’S) has been completed. A hearing and meetings were held in November and December for additional comments. If you are interested in requesting to be an approved agency to enforce the 2009 Edition of the International Fire Code, in accordance with Montana Code Annotated 50-61-102 we ask you to submit the following items: 1) City, county or governmental fire agency resolution or ordinance showing adoption of the 2009 IFC, with local changes. 2) Organizational chart showing inspector(s), who they are, and if they are certified in a current code. (certification is not a requirement) 3) Map of your jurisdictional area where you will be enforcing the code. 4) Number of annual inspections conducted.
