Missoula County Integrated Parks & Trails Plan Initiated by the Missoula County Parks Board and the Board of County Commissioners County Parks Program of the Rural Initiatives Office and many partners Update of 1997 County Parks and Conservation Lands Plan – will include a trails component 1-Year planning process, with professional parks & trails planning assistance Missoula County Parks & Conservation Lands Plan 1997 Adopted January 21, 1997 ---PAGE BREAK--- Missoula County Integrated Parks & Trails Plan Plan Mission The mission of the planning effort is to work with residents, communities, agencies and organizations to provide a long-term coordinated guide for the development and maintenance of trails and parks providing both passive and active recreation opportunities that are safe and accessible. Clinton Conservation Park ---PAGE BREAK--- Missoula County Integrated Parks & Trails Plan Planning Process Goals: • Provide a means for consistency and continuity for Parks Board actions and guide Parks Board activities and projects. • Address parks and trails needs (land and facilities) for the purposes of: – encouraging healthy communities, – identifying future acquisitions including significant parks and trail corridors, and – guide subdivision review, so that parks & trails are a central part of development as it occurs, • Complement other regional park and trail planning efforts and projects, such as Urban Area parks and trails planning.
