Main/Ryman sewer and street construction contract with Patterson Enterprises Date: June 16, 2009 Prepared by: Monte Sipe Initiated by: Kevin Slovarp Action Required: Approve and authorize mayor to sign Change Order #7 to E. Main/Ryman sewer and street construction contract. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to sign Change Order #7 to the Contract between the City of Missoula and Patterson Enterprises for the E. Main/Ryman sewer and street construction project in the amount of $6,700. Timeline: Referral to committee: June 22, 2009 Committee discussion: June 24, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: This change reflects a $3,000 payment for additional by-pass pumping and traffic control required for Change Order #1-6 work and incentive payment in the amount of $4,500. A deduction of $800 was made for boulevard tree damage on the E. Main St. frontage during construction. This Change Order totals $6,700. Change item descriptions and costs are shown on the attached Change Order document itself. Change Order #1-6 were administratively approved and signed by the Mayor. Change Order #7 puts the total change order amount at $12,383.74 and thus is being presented to City Council. Authorization on this change order will allow final payment to the contractor and with release of retainage. Change Order 1-6 $5,683.74 Change Order 7 $6,700.00 Total Change Orders $12,383.74 Total of all Change Orders increases the Contract Total to $202,072.74 The original contract amount was $189,689.00. The engineers estimate for the project was $284,812.50 The 2nd low bidder was LS Jensen at $255,401.00 Financial Implications: This change order will be funded by Sewer R&D Construction fund for this project.
