City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Administration and Finance Item: Discussion of Partnership Health Center facility planning Date: January 8, 2010 Prepared by: Mike Barton Initiated by: Administration and Finance Committee Action Required: Discussion of PHC’s plans for its new building and current facility. Recommended Motion: No motion is necessary. Timeline: Referral to committee: January 11, 2010 Committee discussion: January 13, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: During discussion of the CDBG loan agreement to support purchase of the Creamery Building, several committee members expressed interest in knowing how PHC planned to utilize this structure as well as the one that houses current operations. When PHC applied for CDBG assistance, it was considering sale of the current facility at 323 West Alder. It now appears that PHC will continue to use the Alder Street facility, as well as the Creamery Building, for clinic operations. Committee members expressed interest in knowing more of PHC’s plans. As a result, Kim Mansch, PHC Executive Director presented a brief summary of developing plans for the clinic’s physical facilities (attached) and agreed to visit with the Committee at its January 13 meeting to provide further details and to answer questions from Councilpersons. Financial Implications: At its January 11 meeting, Council will consider a $275,000 CDBG loan agreement that defers repayment contingent on the sale of PHC’s Alder Street facility.
