City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Construction Bid Award for SID 544 – Rattlesnake Neighborhood Sewer Collection System Project Date: August 26, 2009 Prepared by: Gregg Wood Initiated by: Steve King Action Required: Review construction bids for Rattlesnake Neighborhood Sewer Collection System project, award bid to lowest responsible bidder and authorize return of bid bonds. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to sign a construction contract to award the bid for SID 544 - Rattlesnake Neighborhood Sewer Collection System Project to Safco, Inc. in the amount of $3,630,990.99 and authorize return of bid bonds. Timeline: Referral to committee: August 26, 2009 Committee discussion: September 9, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: City Council approved the Creation of Special Improvement District 544 – Rattlesnake Neighborhood Sewer Collection System Project on July 13, 2009. Attached is the bid tabulation for project. The project is scheduled to start this fall, shut down for winter and then start back up in spring 2010. Financial Implications: See attached cost summary.
