City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Item: Resolution to Order Alley Approach Improvements Project 09-037 Block 73, School Addition between Cowper and Bulwer St. Date: June 17, 2009 Prepared by: Monte Sipe Initiated by: Doug Harby Action Required: Pass a Resolution to Order alley approach improvements in Block 73, School Addition, Project 09-037. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council adopt the resolution relating to paving alley approaches in Block 73, School Addition, Project 09-037, of the City's Sidewalk, Curb, Gutter, and Alley Approach Program; ordering in the alley approach improvements and directing notice be given to affected property owners. Timeline: Referral to committee: June 22, 2009 Committee discussion: July 1, 2009 (property owners have been invited) Background and Alternatives Explored: Project 09-037 was initiated by petition of 55% of the adjacent property owners with frontage on the alley. The petitioning property owners have requested the City Council create the project and provide financing if requested. This is a Resolution to Order as required by the bond counsel. Financial Implications: All of the costs of the improvements will be paid by property owners or assessed to the adjacent property owners under the City's Special Improvement Assessment Program, with financing terms available up to twenty years and deferred loans available to low income property owners.
