Page 1 of 4 ATTACHMENT B Northside Bridge Maintenance and Repair Design Scope – 10/14/2009 Our Scope of Services closely follows our Hour and Fee Spreadsheet and is as follows: Task 1 - Project Management and Administration. This includes setting up the project files, QA/QC process, and developing a Project Guide which outlines internal company protocol during the project. This task also includes effort associated with project meetings, internal work coordination, and project invoicing. The deliverable for this task will consist of the invoices. Task 2 – Research & Develop Deck Repair Strategies. This task consists of: researching deck overlay and sealer options and determining the appropriate solutions. From this work, deck repair options and associated anticipated construction costs will be determined to select the appropriate repair strategy. The selected alternate will be incorporated in the construction documents. The deliverables for this task are the deck repair specifications and drawing. Task 3 – Develop Pigeon Deterrent System. Options will be explored to deter pigeons from nesting in the structure. Such options may include fencing, noise, and misting. The selected alternate will be detailed and specified in the construction documents. The deliverable for this task are the specifications and drawing for pigeon deterrent. Task 4 – Landscaping & Fencing. This task consists of developing landscaping details. We will detail planters or fencing to prevent persons from occupying the ramp structures. Additionally, a prefabricated bathroom structure will be specified at the south ramp structure. The bathroom will be designed/specified to match the appearance of the ramp structure. Selected details and specifications will be incorporated in the construction documents. The deliverables for this task are the specifications and drawing for landscaping. Task 5 – Water Supply System. Develop a water supply system to allow cleaning of the ramps at each level. Details showing new piping, valves, and hose bibbs will be included in the plans. The deliverables for this task are the specifications and drawing for the Water Supply System. Task 6 – Develop Elevator Repair Strategies. This task consists of determining options for repairing the elevators and modifying them to deter vandalism. The deliverable will consist of a letter summarizing the possible options and costs. It is not anticipated the elevator repairs will be included in the construction contract. Task 7 – Develop Vandalism and Graffiti Prevention Measures. This task consists of researching paints and other coatings that will reduce the adhesion of graffiti and make removal of graffiti easier. Also, cameras, motion sensor lights and other alternatives will be investigated to deter vandalism. Selected measures will be incorporated in the construction documents. The deliverables for this task are the specifications resulting from this work. The deliverables for this task are the specifications for vandalism and graffiti prevention measures. Task 8 – Relocate & Repair Lighting. ---PAGE BREAK--- Page 2 of 4 Provide contract documents to replace lights that have been vandalized. We will also look at relocating some of the lights to reduce vandalism and prevent obstacles for maintenance. The contract drawings will include new/revised wiring diagrams and details for the relocated pole foundations. The deliverables for this task are the specifications and drawing for the electrical details. Task 9 – Develop Project Plans. This task includes the development and checking of the project plans that will ultimately be included in the construction contract documents. At this point, it is assumed that the deliverables consist of 7 plan sheets as outlined below. 1. Title Sheet & Quantities 2. Site Plan 3. Pigeon Deterrent Details 4. Water Supply System Details 5. Deck Repair Details 6. Landscaping & Fencing Details 7. Electrical Details Task 10 – Develop Project Specifications and Construction cost Estimate. This includes effort required for the development of the project Special Provisions, quantities, and construction cost estimate. It is assumed that the project will use standard public works and/or Department of Transportation specifications, but special provisions will be required for deck sealer/overly, graffiti protection coatings, bathrooms and other specialty items. Task 11 – Construction Administration. This task includes providing technical support during bidding, review contractor submitted shop drawings and to providing inspection services during construction. It is assumed that full-time on-site inspection services will not be required.
