City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Surplus Resolution Date: Monday, June 08, 2009 Prepared by: Jack Stucky Initiated by: Jack Stucky Action Required: Please approve a resolution declaring certain City of Missoula Property as Surplus and Authorizing its disposal. Recommended Motion: I move the City Council approve a resolution declaring certain City of Missoula Property as Surplus and Authorizing its disposal. Timeline: Referral to committee: 6/15/09 Committee discussion: 6/17/09 Background and Alternatives Explored: The items on the resolution have served their useful life for the City of Missoula's purposes and needs and are no longer being used or operated by the City or have become too costly to operate and maintain. Financial Implications: All items determined to have value will be sold at auction. Any items that cannot be sold at auction will be sold for scrap or salvage value. Any items that have no scrap or salvage value will be disposed of properly and in compliance with EPA standards. All proceeds from the sale of surplus properties will be returned to the purchasing fund. Proceeds from items purchased with General Fund money will be returned to the General Fund. Proceeds purchased with money from Wastewater Treatment, Parking Commission, or other funds will be returned to that corresponding fund Attachments: Resolution
