City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Planning, Annexation and Zoning Item: Council Appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission Date: August 24, 2009 Prepared by: Kelly Elam Initiated by: Action Required: Conduct interviews and appoint an "Alternate Recommended Motion: I move the City Council appoint as the "Alternate member of the Historic Preservation Commission for the term commencing immediately and ending on December 31, 2012. Timeline: Referral to committee: August 24, 2009 Committee discussion: October 7, 2009 Council acts to set hearing: Public Hearing: Deadline: None, members continue serving until reappointed or successor is named. Background: There is one position open for the Alternate 2 position on the Historic Preservation Commission. Alternates on the HPC must be residents of Missoula County. The position became vacant when the City Council appointed the former member, Bernadine Gantert to another position on the board. The term for this position begins immediately and continues through December 31, 2012. We received one application from John Paoli.
