For immediate release: November 17, 2009 CONTACT: Marty Rehbein PHONE: [PHONE REDACTED] E-MAIL: [EMAIL REDACTED] Applicants sought to serve on the Open Space Advisory Committee The Missoula City Council is seeking applications for volunteers to serve on the Open Space Advisory Committee (OSAC). The terms for the positions begin January 26, 2010 and ends on January 25, 2013 and the board meets The following non- paying positions are open: One member who is a qualified elector and resides in the City limits Three members who are qualified electors and either reside in the City limits or within a four and a half mile radius of the City limits. OSAC is charged with doing everything in its power to implement the Missoula Urban Area Open Space Plan. The committee provides the City Council with written recommendations concerning open space conservation proposals, including proposed acquisitions and trail development proposals, pursuant to the guidance of the Missoula Urban Area Open Space Plan adopted by the City and County in August, 1995 and any subsequent revisions. Applicants for the board will interview with the City Council's Conservation committee. To apply, applications can be downloaded from the City website at www.ci.missoula.mt.us/vacancy or picked up at the City Clerk Office, City Hall, 435 Ryman St. Applications must be received in the City Clerk Office on or before 5:00 PM, Friday, November 30, 2009.
