Notice of Increase Sewer Rates Effective January 1, 2010, the City Council approved a 5% sewer rate increase. The increase will be the first in nine years, and Missoula will continue to have the lowest residential sewer rates of all major Montana cities. The increases are necessary: • to provide sufficient revenues to replace aging infrastructure and equipment at the treatment plant, increase future capacity and minimize odors, to extend sewer lines to further protect our drinking water and our rivers and streams, and to cover general operating cost increases for utilities (natural gas, electricity, solid waste disposal) and chemicals used to process and reuse bio-solids. Please call the City Finance Office at [PHONE REDACTED] or [PHONE REDACTED], if you have any questions.
