Timeline: City Council’s Referral to committee: November 1, 2010 PAZ Committee Action: November 3, 2010 Action Item City Council Action: November 8, 2010 (Consent Agenda or Committee Reports) Deadline: November 19, 2010 Background: The Office of Planning and Grants has received a request from Nick Kaufman of WGM Group, Inc. to extend the final plat submittal deadline for Stonybrook Subdivision to November 10, 2011 (Attachment Stonybrook Subdivision is a 43 lot subdivision on 17.6 acres located west of Reserve Street, on the northwest corner of 3rd Street West and Tower Street. The subdivision preliminary plat was approved on November 10, 2008 subject to 38 conditions of approval (Attachment The approval required the final plat to be submitted by November 10, 2010. Per City Subdivision Regulations Article 4-7(1), the applicant is required to submit the final plat by the deadline in the approval letter or request an extension of the preliminary plat approval period. The regulations state that the governing body may grant an extension to the preliminary plat approval period, “but in no event shall approval extend beyond three years from the date of plat approval”. The applicant has clarified his request is for a one-year extension of the deadline, in compliance with the three-year limit in accordance with City Subdivision Regulations Article 4-7(1) (see Attachment Staff Recommendation: 1. Staff recommends approval of the request to extend the preliminary plat approval period with a final plat submittal deadline of November 10, 2011 for the Stonybrook Subdivision.
