Sign up for Green Power Missoula by August 31, 2010 As a founding member of the Green Power Missoula program you’ll reduce your carbon footprint and help establish clean, sustainable energy sources for Missoula. What is Green Power Missoula? o A city-sponsored program to offset carbon produced through conventional electricity generation o Individuals or businesses can purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) online through our partnership with Sterling Planet o By designating City of Missoula during your purchase, each REC will return 20% of proceeds to Missoula to be used to fund public projects in energy efficiency and other greenhouse gas mitigation strategies in our city How does the purchase of RECs benefit Missoula? o Promotes cleaner, more sustainable energy sources o Reduces greenhouse gas emissions from conventional electrical generation o Allows people or businesses that cannot install their own renewable energy sources to support renewable energy sources o Generates funds for Missoula that can be used for local energy production or efficiency projects o Helps fight global warming! Click on “Purchase Green Power Missoula RECs” or the Green Power Missoula logo; this takes you to the Green Power Missoula home page provided by Sterling Planet. 3. Click “sign up now!” to see your sign up options 4. Choose a one-time or subscription purchase 5. Follow instructions on the secure transaction page 6. For large volume customers (consumes over 10,000 kWh per month), be sure to activate email link provided on the Green Power Missoula home page.
