Painter, Fire Chief Initiated by: (Same) Action Required: Confirm the Mayor's appointment of Firefighters Ahren Cornelius, Aslan Summerday, Joseph Waggett, Bradley Davis, Jason Chesbro & Ryan Murer. Recommended Motion: I move the City Council confirm the Mayor's appointment of Firefighters Cornelius, Summerday, Waggett, Davis, Chesbro & Murer. Timeline: Referral to committee: September 17, 2009 Committee discussion: September 23rd or 30th Council Action: October 5th, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: FF's Cornelius, Summerday, Waggett, Davis, Chesbro & Murer were hired as Probationary Firefighters on October 6th, 2008. All have successfully completed their 6-month probationary period and 6 months as Firefighter Trainees. We would ask that the Council confirm his appointment. With the Council's permission, if approved by the Public Safety & Health Committee, I would like to schedule this item to be referred to the Council meeting of October 5th – and introduce them to Council and the Mayor at that meeting.
