City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Plat Annexation and Zoning Item: Maintenance and Amendments to Title 20 Date: April 30, 2010 Prepared by: Tom Zavitz, Laval Means, OPG, Urban Initiatives Initiated by: Mike Barton Action Required: Update and motion to forward the proposed Title 20 amendments to Planning Board for their consideration and recommendation regarding the corrections to the Title 20 Zoning Ordinance. Recommended Motion: I move that the City Council forward the proposed amendments to Title 20, to the Planning Board for its consideration and recommendation. Timeline: Referral to committee: May 3, 2010 Committee discussion: May 5, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: It’s been approximately six months since Title 20 took effect. Over that time, the Office of Planning and Grants has been monitoring questions regarding the new ordinance. It is OPG’s intent to provide regular maintenance of the regulations. Most of the items identified came to light from use of the ordinance by the Permits Division of OPG and citizens, architects and developers. The proposed corrections and revisions were distributed to city agencies and interested citizens for comment. Comments received and responds with appropriate revisions to the list are attached.
