City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Administration and Finance Item: Approval of MCAT Contract Date: November 5, 2010 Prepared by: Brentt Ramharter Initiated by: Brentt Ramharter Action Required: Approve the MCAT Contract for June 30,2010 through June 30, 2013. Recommended Motion: Approve the new three year contract with MCAT for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. Timeline: Referral to committee: November 5, 2010 Committee discussion: November 10, 2010 Council acts to set hearing: N/A Public Hearing: N/A Deadline: ASAP – preferably at council meeting on November 15, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: This is the updated MCAT contract for July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010. Financial Implications: The financial impact on the city is basically at the same percentage of franchise fees for next year as in the previous three years (i.e. 65% of the franchise fees collected from Bresnan) plus the city will continue to dedicate 100% of the PEG access fees to the replacement of capital equipment used at MCAT (this is approximately $50,000 per year).
