City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Parking Commission Go-4 Purchase Date: June 14, 2010 Prepared by: Jack Stucky Initiated by: Jack Stucky Action Required: Approve the purchase of one 2010 GO-4 Parking Enforcement vehicle from White Bear West of Kent Washington, for $22,522. This is a sole vendor purchase. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve the purchase of one 2010 Go-4 Parking Enforcement vehicle from White Bear West of Kent Washington, for $22,522 Timeline: Referral to committee: June 21, 2010 Committee discussion: June 23, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: This is a scheduled purchase. It has, however, been moved up to take advantage of factory discounts. The GO-4 purchased in FY09 cost $25,625. GO-4 is offering a purchase reduction of $3,000 for all purchases prior to August 1st, 2010. By moving this purchase up we can save a total of $3,103. Financial Implications: The Parking Commission has $26,000 budgeted for this purchase. A portion of the remaining budgeted funds will be used to purchase LED flashing top lights; the remainder of the funds will remain in the Parking Commission budget.
