March 4, 2010 Tony Preite, Director Montana Department of Commerce PO Box 200505 Helena, MT 59620 Dear Tony: Please be advised that our organization strongly supports the City of Missoula’s Big Sky Trust Fund Category I Application to assist WGM Group, Inc. in the creation of its Industrial Design Division. This project will create three jobs which pay well over the area’s median wage. These engineering positions will not only fill a gap in the area’s available professional services, the project will also provide jobs for three highly talented engineers which were laid off as result of the Smurfit Stone Container Corporation Frenchtown mill closure. We have met with these engineers, with WGM Group, Inc, and with Missoula’s Mayor, John Engen, regarding this exciting new endeavor. Mayor Engen is offering his full support to the project, and shares in the belief that the creation of this division will not only benefit the City of Missoula, but the region at large. Opportunities throughout the region and the advent of the new cellulose economy enhance the potential of this division. As you know, Western Montana is ripe with vacant industrial sites, from lumber mills in Pablo and Bonner to the Frenchtown Pulp Mill, alongside many more. Assistance from the Big Sky Trust Fund will allow a local company to create jobs which will directly contribute to the planning and implementation of reuse strategies for these properties, turning community liabilities back into regional assets. As always, we thank you for your continued commitment to job creation in Missoula and across Montana. Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Kindest regards, Dick King President/ CEO
