Recommended Motion: Not applicable Timeline: Referral to committee: May 29, 2009 Committee discussion: June 3, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: The preservation of agriculture and agricultural soils has become an issue in Missoula. One tool for preservation that has been used in other communities is the transfer of development rights (TDR). Gallatin County recently spent several years developing a draft TDR ordinance. Greg Sullivan, former Gallatin County Planning Director and current Bozeman City Attorney, led the effort. Mr. Sullivan will make a presentation on the concept of TDR and Gallatin County’s initiative. Financial Implications: None. Attachments: None.
