City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: 5th / 6th / Arthur Intersection Improvements –WGM Proposal Date: October 1, 2009 Prepared by: Gregg Wood Initiated by: Kevin Slovarp Action Required: Approve Letter Agreement for Professional Services with WGM Group, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $29,375 for professional services on the proposed SID 548 – 5th / 6th/ Arthur Intersection Improvements project. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to sign Letter Agreement for Professional Services with WGM Group, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $29,375 for professional services on the proposed SID 548 – 5th / 6th/ Arthur Intersection Improvements project. Timeline: Referral to committee: October 2, 2009 Committee discussion: October 14, 2009 Background and Alternatives Explored: WGM Group, Inc. has already done extensive coordination of the project concept with the University of Montana (U of M) and the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) under a previous work agreement with the U of M. This agreement is for work related to preliminary design and assistance with the formation of Special Improvement District 548. If Special Improvement District 548 is created, a Request for Proposals will need to be issued for additional design services and those design services will be assessed to the SID. Financial Implications: Costs are included in proposed SID 548 and will be assessed to the University of Montana. Attachments: WGM Letter Agreement
