City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Amendment No. 7 to the Professional Engineering Agreement with HKM Engineering, Inc. for the Russell Street / South 3rd Street - Environmental Impact Statement Project Date: March 31, 2010 Prepared by: Gregg Wood Initiated by: Kevin Slovarp Action Required: Amendment to existing City/HKM Engineering, Inc. agreement for the Russell Street / South 3rd Street - Environmental Impact Statement Project. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 7 to the City/HKM Engineering, Inc. agreement for the Russell Street / South 3rd Street - Environmental Impact Statement Project in the amount not to exceed $83,478 contingent upon City Attorney and Montana Department of Transportation’s concurrence. Timeline: Referral to committee: April 2, 2010 Committee discussion: April 5, 2010 Background and Alternatives Explored: This amendment is necessary to complete the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and to address new requirements that resulted from agency review and comments relative to the Traffic Analysis Update (Peer Review) conducted by Kittleson & Associates. The project team held additional meetings to respond to citizen and agency comments, the overall schedule has been extended, new carbon monoxide impact analysis was required, evaluation of South 3rd Street traffic counts was required and additional printing cost is anticipated for the FEIS. Financial Implications: Will increase contract $83,478 to be paid by federal STPU funds. Attachments: Amendment No. 7
