City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Wastewater Treatment Division Small Extended Cab Truck Purchase Date: January 7, 2010 Prepared by: Jack Stucky Initiated by: Jack Stucky Action Required: Purchase of two pickup trucks for Wastewater Treatment Division. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council award the purchase of two 2010 Chevrolet Colorado extended cab 4 wheel drive pickups to Karl Tyler Chevrolet of Missoula, MT for $20,912 each, a total of cost of $41,824 for both trucks, and return all bid bonds. Timeline: Referral to committee: 1/11/10 Committee discussion: 1/13/10 Background and Alternatives Explored: The primary concern in this purchase was acquiring small extended cab pickups that were as fuel efficient as possible. Many of the small pickups in the City fleet are not as fuel efficient as the larger trucks. Most vendors could not provide a 4 wheel drive pickup with a 4-5 cylinder engine. GM was able to meet this bid specification. Financial Implications: There are no trade-in vehicles included in this purchase. The total cost of this purchase is $41,824. Attachments: Bid Tab
