City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Conservation Committee Item: Council Appointments to the Open Space Advisory Committee Date: December 31, 2009 Prepared by: Kelly Elam Initiated by: Action Required: Conduct interviews and appoint members to the Open Space Advisory Committee. Recommended Motion: I move the City Council appoint the following people to the Open Space Advisory Committee for the term commencing January 26, 2010 and ending January 25, 2013: resident), and (city resident or resides within 41/2 mile radius of city limits) for the term beginning January 25, 2010 and ending on January 26, 2013, and appoint resident or resides within 41/2 mile radius of city limits) to replace a member for the term commencing January 26, 2010 and ending January 25, 2012. Timeline: Referral to committee: January 4, 2010 Committee discussion: January 20th and 27th, 2010 Deadline: January 25, 2010 Background: There are five positions available on the Open Space Advisory Committee – all must be qualified electors and one must reside in the city limits and four may reside in the city limits or in a 4 1/2 mile radius of the city limits. Four of the positions terms will expire on January 25, 2010. The application deadline closed on November 30, 2009. Jed Little, Grover Aldrich, Jeff Stevens are reapplying, and Kylie Paul is a new applicant; Karen Knudsen chose not to reapply. The term for these positions begin on January 26, 2010 and ends on January 25, 2013. The fifth position is vacant because Peter Bugoni moved to another part of the state and resigned in early December. The application deadline closed on December 30, 2009 and three new applicants applied, Beth Hahn, Bert Linder and Jenny Tollefson.
