RESOLUTION NUMBER 7460 A RESOLUTION OF THE MISSOULA CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN FOR AND UTILIZE $190,000 OF FUNDS ALLOCATED THROUGH MONTANA HOUSE BILL 645 (HB645) FOR CITY PROJECT NO. 2009-042 “NORTH HIGGINS PAVING” WHEREAS, the City of Missoula has been approved to receive $190,000 of funding from HB645 designated for use to design and construct City Project No. 2009-042 “North Higgins Paving;” and WHEREAS, the purpose of this project is to pave, seal coat and stripe the three blocks of North Higgins Street from Broadway to Railroad Street in conjunction with the North Higgins Streetscape ARRA /CTEP, project improving the pedestrian, bicycling and lighting facilities, and encourage interest in this portion of the downtown providing better opportunities for existing and new businesses; and WHEREAS, the project is proposed to consist of: 1) Milling and overlaying the roadway 2) Seal Coating the roadway 3) Installing pavement markings; and WHEREAS, the HB645 funds in combination with ARRA/CTEP contributions will fund the project including the described amenities; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Missoula City Council to authorize the Mayor to accept and sign for the HB645 funds and direct staff to utilize the funds for said project on behalf of the City of Missoula. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Missoula, Montana that the Mayor of Missoula is hereby authorized and directed to accept the $190,000 HB645 grant on behalf of the City of Missoula and sign all documents related to the grant and utilize the funds for Project No. 2009-042 “North Higgins Paving;” and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff is hereby directed to proceed with the steps necessary to implement the project as described, subject to the approval of the City Council.
