City of Missoula, Montana Item to be Referred to City Council Committee Committee: Public Works Committee Item: Wastewater Treatment Division Vacuum Truck Purchase Date: January 7, 2010 Prepared by: Jack Stucky Initiated by: Jack Stucky Action Required: Return all bid bonds for the Wastewater Treatment Division vacuum truck purchase and authorize this project to be moved into Fiscal Year 2011. Recommended Motion: The committee recommends the City Council return all bid bonds and authorize the purchase of a vacuum truck for the Wastewater Treatment Division to be moved into fiscal year 2011. Timeline: Referral to committee: 1/11/10 Committee discussion: 1/13/10 Background and Alternatives Explored: Financial Implications: The budget allocation for this project is based on a 10% increase over the cost of the FY07 vacuum truck purchase. In spite of an economic down trend in the cost of equipment vacuum truck costs increased significantly. The bids prices came in excess of a 35% increase. This left the cost of the vacuum truck purchase well over the budge authorization. This project will be reviewed and the budget figures will be adjusted for a Fy11. Attachments: None
