For immediate release: August 18, 2009 CONTACT: Marty Rehbein, City Clerk PHONE: [PHONE REDACTED] E-MAIL: [EMAIL REDACTED] Applications sought for the Historic Preservation Commission The City Council is seeking applications for one volunteer to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission. The term for the position begins immediately and ends on December 31, 2012. Applicants must meet the following qualification: An "At large" member who resides in the city The Historic Preservation program is designed to promote the preservation of historic and prehistoric sites, structures, objects, buildings and historic districts by addressing historic preservation issues and historic districts at the local level and integrating them into local, state and federal planning and decision-making processes. The historic preservation program also includes the identification, evaluation and protection of historic resources in Missoula. The Missoula Historic Preservation Commission advises the Missoula City Council, Missoula Consolidated Planning Board, and the Board of Adjustment. The board meets Applicants for the board will interview with the City Council's Plat, Annexation & Zoning committee. To apply, applications can be downloaded from the City website at www.ci.missoula.mt.us/vacancy or picked up at the City Clerk Office, City Hall, 435 Ryman St. Applications must be received in the City Clerk Office on or before 5:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2009.
